Foto Friday: Cades Cove, Tennessee

Every Friday I’ll be sharing a photo from someplace in my travels.

This weeks photo is from my trip to Cades Cove, Tennessee.

Cades Cove is a part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the most popular tourist destination within the park. Cades Cove is famous for old settlements, wildlife and spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains.

The area is home to only twelve historical structures. The Cades Cove Methodist Church, as pictured below, was organized in the 1820s although the church itself wasn’t completed until the early 1900s making it one of the most recent buildings.

If anyone has a chance to visit, I highly recommend it as these sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
